Junpei's little brother. He is a corky, yet adorable little brother that loved his family so much that he didn't care how he got to see them again. He and Junpei did everything together, being as cute as kids could be. They both made the agreement that they would go see their father at the prisoner camp north from their holding camp in Russia. Kanta ended up getting sick, and even worse once they had made it up to the prisoner camp. In the end, they were taken back to the harbor after sharing a heart tearing scene with their father. During the trip back, Kanta ends up getting worse and soon died. Once back to the harbor and about to board the boat, Junpei held hi mon his back and talked to him about their mother's favorite book. Junpei imagined him going to where she was, up in the stars, just like how the book described it.
