Though originally very arrogant, Kamata is the first to accept their defeat to the Onibaku following their fight and adopts a general change in attitude. It is in this way that Kamata becomes one of the more mature characters of the series. Kamata is cross Japanese and American by ethnicity, and almost three quarters into the series moves to the US to live. He is last seen working at a bar in The Bronx, New York.
