She is a freshman who was suppose to attend Kouyou Academy in Japan branch but was disqualified when she lost to Tooru during an elimination battle that look like an opening ceremony. Prior to the elimination battle she and the latter become quick friends before becoming opponents, though eliminated, she holds no ill feelings for Tooru where she even wished him good luck.
