Kayvān is a member of the Ades Federation's group of five generals. He leads the Second Fleet which comprises the Federation advance forces. Although he is a bold, uncompromising, and brave general, his personality overflows with human kindness. Because of this, his subordinates place their trust in him.

He is named after Āzar Kayvān, a Zoroastrian high priest who lived in Persia during the 16th century and founded the Illuminationism school of thought.
