When Kokona was young, her father's company failed, which caused them to move from Tokyo to Aomori, where she found it hard to adjust and make friends in the new environment. Because of this, she became lonely and somewhat depressed, and later had occasional panic attacks. Despite this she still dreamt of acting, and acted alone on a 'stage' near the sea.
