Mernes appears to be a calm, quiet, and serious boy whose personality remains a high known intelligence. He is a taciturn and personable character in which he is a bit alien to the world and slow to catch up. Although he doesn't show his emotions through expressions, Kobeni can usually tell his feelings just by looking at him.

He is shown to have good patience and control over himself most of the time and rarely shows any kind of reaction or emotion to his surroundings. Mernes has no communication skills and is very shy when surrounded by many people, even when he's with the Heavenly Kings tends to say very few words. When he was at the Assassin Guild he never spoke directly to his subordinates and let others to do it for him. Even so, Mernes wants to be more expressive and is open to ask help to do it.
