A smuggler owning the freighter Millenium Falcon, Han had dumped his cargo to escape from an Imperial cruiser during a smuggling run for Jabba the Hutt, causing Jabba to eventually put a bounty on his head. He agreed to help Luke and Obi-Wan to rescue Leia Organa, and ended up working regularly for the Rebellion.
