Irvine is a mercenary who does what he wants when he wants. He has the classic "I don’t care" and "get out of my way" attitude, though in a few episodes that's often set aside for personal matters. He's usually very cool and doesn't like chitchat, and it takes him a while to trust people and make friends. Despite the fact that he first went after Zeke, he eventually becomes a "big brother" to Van and Fiona, and is a loyal friend into Guardian Force.
Despite working with Van and Thomas in the GF, he refuses to join it, nonetheless be involved with any affiliation to the Empire or Republic; this reason is unknown and possibly personal. Even though Irvine is thought to be one of the main characters of the series, many things about him are still wrapped up in mystery.
